"Among the many clothing types in our wardrobe, none leads a more unappreciated existence than the sock. Wavering between undergarment and outerwear, the staggering amount of pressure and force applied to the sock each time we take a step forward attests to its silent resilience. Artist Info
Atelier HOKO (2009) is an independent research lab focusing on investigations towards material and immaterial conditions that make up our experience of the everyday. The programme is developed in response to questions on how the role and practice of design today can move beyond its perceived perimeters. The atelier hopes to cultivate an open-ness and ability to un-know, bringing about a heightened curiosity towards all phenomena which can lead to potential applications within the creative field. Part of design studio, HOKO founded in 2002 by Alvin Ho and Clara Koh.
